First Finish of 2019

The first week of 2019 was spent being lazy, regrouping after being away for two weeks. I spent quite a bit of time sitting with the puppy by the fire (yes, even in Orlando!) and stitching away.

You won’t be surprised to hear, I am sure, that I started ANOTHER EPP project….wait for it….using my favorite happy flower block. They are so addicting to make. I did not take any pictures as I am just at the basting a bunch of hexies stage. In the meantime, I decided I should have a finish using some of the scrappy blocks I have left over from this quilt.

After almost a month of enjoying the stitching by the fire activity, it was nice to spend some time at my sewing machine. Using 18 blocks, I stitched a cute rainbow-ish table runner!

Sadly, I did not get a chance to quilt the runner this week. I only had a minute to clear off our kitchen table and snap a few quick photos before dinner time. It’s wonderful to have these blocks being used rather than sitting pretty in a pile. Now what to do with the other 15 or so leftover blocks….add to them for a quilt or use in a small project?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your 2019 is off to a great start! Happy stitching,
