Friday Finish: One Love Quilt + Pattern

Ok, so it was many Fridays ago, but I finally finished the red version of my heart quilt and published the pattern. I don’t know why it took me so long to finish the pattern that so many have asked for. The original heart quilt was made for our 30th wedding anniversary, and it remains one of my favorites! (I published a more detailed post about the first quilt called Have a Heart for the Blogger’s Quilt Festival if you want to read about it here. By the time I got around to writing the pattern, that name had already been taken.)

I tweaked the dimensions of the original quilt to make this one more rectangular and not so square. The block size has also been changed. The first version was dictated by the AccuQuilt HST die I had at the time. This time around the half square triangles are pieced in the traditional manner.

I love my friend Sarah’s scrappy version she made while testing the pattern. Her sister colored in the included coloring sheet, and Sarah selected her fabrics from that design. Rachel received the completed quilt as a birthday present. What a brilliant collaboration among sisters!!

My friend Mary quilted it beautifully!! The quilt finishes at 60” x 70”, and the PDF pattern can be purchased in my Etsy shop or over at The Craft Table.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stitching,
